faq

the usual questions

is mooney really free?

yes. the whole daily loop is free forever: voice logging, receipt scanning, splits, budgets, and monthly insights. mooney+ is a paid tier with a seven day trial for the extra bits, but you never need it to use the app properly.

how does voice expense tracking actually work?

you open mooney, say something like “spent fourteen dollars on lunch”, and it logs the expense in about three seconds. it works out the category for you, so there is no menu to tap through. the fastest way to record money is to say it out loud.

do i have to connect my bank?

no. mooney starts working the moment you talk to it, no bank login required. if you want, you can switch on bank notification import and it will catch the spends you forget to say. that part is opt in and stays off until you turn it on.

what makes mooney different from other expense trackers?

most expense trackers die in week two because logging is a chore. mooney removes the typing entirely. you speak, it writes it down, and the record stays complete because saying one sentence is easy enough to keep doing.

can it split bills with friends?

yes. say the bill or scan the receipt, and mooney remembers the split and who still owes you. no math at the table while everyone pretends to look for their cards.

what if i forget to log something?

you can add it later in a couple of taps, or let bank notification import pick it up. logging in the moment takes about three seconds, so you forget far less than you would expect.
